Genesis 4:25-26 KJV

[25] And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she , hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. [26] And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord .

I know in early biblical times most people lived to up in years. Cain slew Able and then left, as we established in yesterday’s reading. So they were both of age and able to have children of their own and then mom and dad had another child of their own. So how old were they? The scriptures do not say.

The next verse states that Seth became a father to Enos. Then and only then did men begin to call upon the name of the Lord. So Adam, Eve, Cain, and Able all spoke with the Lord. Even Cain with him murdering his own brother still spoke with the Lord. Why the change? No one can say for sure, whether it be sin, or multiplying, or something else.

All we can say is Seth is the third son and according to the reading all things changed as they concern the Lord.

[28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
