Missing

-chosen, redeemed, and whole in the eyes of God……Romans 8:29

I, along with several other people I know, have recently started listening to podcasts while at work. Work dictates that one can have earbuds in as long as one ear is open. That being said I started with ‘True Crime’ podcasts. The following is a list of said true crime podcasts that I would recommend to anyone looking for this type of podcast to listen to.

  1. Sword and Scale
  2. Dateline
  3. 48 hours
  4. 20/20
  5. Snapped, women who kill
  6. Seriously Mysterious
  7. Sword and Scale Nightmares
  8. The Deck
  9. DNA:ID
  10. Nightmare Next Door
  11. Hot and Deadly

And the list goes on. However, while listening to Dateline commercials kept advertising “Missing in America : Dateline”. This peaked my interest. No, I am not aware of any family members or close/distant friends missing, but the story of Jodi Huisentruit, a reporter for KIMT in Mason City, Iowa, who went missing June 27, 1995 struck a chord within me and I have been researching, not for clues but for information on the missing, ever since. When Natalie Holoway went missing from her ‘senior trip’ after graduation, in Aruba, I wondered, how many known people are missing. I wondered how many unknown people are missing. You may ask yourself, “How can you have an unknown, missing?” Homeless people are people as well and if they go missing no one may know. Other homeless people may just think that Charlie, Bill, or even Ann, moved on to another town or got picked up because of being in the wrong place. When you think about it there are several times this very thing could happen to even the known. Then I started trying to find podcasts that dealt with missing people. If you have been reading my blog up to this point, you can see that there is no set standard on what age, what sex, what race, what nationality, what anything. Nothing seems to matter to the untold number abductors. Not all missing people are abducted. Some chose to leave. Some were abducted. Some just simply got lost, some of these with fears of talking with anyone. The following is a list dedicated to just the missing.

  1. Missing in America : Dateline
  2. Reasonable Doubt
  3. Stolen Lives
  4. Gone Missing
  5. Last Seen Alive
  6. The Missing
  7. The Missing Ones

There are several more missing podcasts. Some of these are just story telling and you may not like just story telling, but there are just so many cases that can be discussed. There are many of these true crime cases as well as missing cases that go untouched. These are the ones deemed irrelevant by the powers that be. I keep digging for more and if you find some true crime or missing podcasts that you feel are worth the listen, please, let me know in the comments. I am always looking for new myself especially after most of these podcasts, are just repeating the ones I have already heard. I may dig into a different topic, such as medical malpractice or something similar.

Short one today, my opinions and the podcasts are in no particular order. Please don’t think I am endorsing one over the other, this is only a list compiled by remembering the name.
